Professional Chainsaw Repairs, In Your Driveway

A chainsaw that will not start or cut always shows up at the wrong time, right when a storm has dropped limbs across the yard or the firewood pile needs cutting before the cold sets in. Hauling equipment to a repair shop, then waiting one to three weeks for service intake, turns a small fuel problem into weeks of delay.

Our mobile chainsaw repair service removes that entire hassle. A certified technician arrives at your home or business with the tools and common parts on board, diagnoses the issue, explains it in plain language and completes most repairs on the spot. From chain sharpening and bar service to carburetor, oiler and clutch work, we restore your saw to safe cutting condition without it ever leaving your property.

Chainsaw Problems We Fix Every Day

Chainsaws develop a predictable set of fuel, chain and oiling issues, especially after sitting between seasons. Most start small and get dangerous or expensive when ignored. Here is what we see most, and what it usually means.

Chainsaw Won’t Start

The number one repair call. Usually a gummed carburetor from stale mixed fuel, a fouled spark plug, a flooded engine or a failed ignition module. A saw that fires then dies points to fuel starvation or carb diaphragm failure.

Cuts Slowly or Burns the Wood

A dull or incorrectly sharpened chain, wrong chain tension or a worn bar makes the saw smoke and burn instead of cutting chips. Sharpening, tensioning and bar dressing restore a fast, straight cut.

Chain Not Getting Oil

A dry bar and chain overheat fast and can ruin both. Clogged oiler ports, a failed oil pump or the wrong bar oil are the usual causes. We clean and test the full oiling system on site.

Dies at Idle or Under Load

A saw that stalls when you let off the throttle, or bogs in the cut, usually has carburetor adjustment, fuel filter or air leak problems. We tune and test under real cutting load.

Chain Keeps Coming Loose

Constant loosening points to a worn bar, stretched chain, damaged tensioner or worn sprocket. Running it loose is a safety hazard, so we correct the whole drive system, not just the tension.

Clutch and Chain Brake Problems

A chain that spins at idle, a slipping clutch or a chain brake that will not engage are serious safety failures. We repair clutch assemblies and brake bands and verify safe operation before we leave.

Root Cause First

What Actually Causes Chainsaw Failures

Most chainsaw problems trace back to a handful of root causes. Fixing the cause, not just the symptom, is what makes a repair last instead of failing again next month.

01

Stale or Incorrectly Mixed Fuel

The leading cause of chainsaw failures. Old ethanol fuel gums up the carburetor, and a wrong 2 cycle mix either smokes heavily or starves the engine of lubrication.

02

Gummed Carburetor and Diaphragms

Chainsaw carburetors rely on flexible diaphragms and tiny metering passages that stiffen and clog with old fuel. Cleaning or replacing the carburetor restores starting and full power.

03

Dull or Damaged Chain and Worn Bar

Cutting dirt, hitting metal or skipping sharpening rounds the cutters. A worn bar groove lets the chain lean and cut crooked. Both force the engine to work far harder than it should.

04

Clogged Oiler and Wrong Bar Oil

Sawdust packs into oiler ports and bar grooves, cutting off lubrication. Thin substitute oils sling off the chain instead of clinging, so the bar runs hot and wears fast.

05

Cracked Fuel Lines and Filters

Ethanol attacks fuel lines, impulse lines and tank vents. Air leaks in the fuel circuit cause hard starts, lean running and stalling under load.

06

Clutch, Sprocket and Brake Wear

Clutch shoes, springs, rim sprockets and brake bands wear with use. Worn drive components cause chain speed loss, chain movement at idle and unsafe brake operation.
